National Deworming Day 2021- Varanasi Travel Agency( the 2nd Online Travel, Aktha, Pahariya, Varanasi) February 10 and August 10 are observed as National Deworming Day (NDD) every year. The day aims to eradicate intestinal worms, referred to as Soil-Transmitted Helminths (STH), among children within the age bracket of 1-19 years. Consistent with the World Health Organisation, about 241 million children in India between the ages of 1-14 years are at risk of parasitic intestinal worms or STH. This suggests India accounts for about 28 per cent of the entire number of children globally estimated to be at risk of STH infections.   What are intestinal worms? Intestinal worms are parasites that live in the human intestines and consume nutrients and vitamins that a toddler consumes.
