Karthik Shukla Ekadashi will celebrate Devotthan Ekadashi today. Lord Srihari will awake from a four-month sleep i.e. yoga sleep. Along with this, Chaturmas fast will also end. At the same time, auspicious works of Hindu religious people will also be started. It is believed that on Ashada Shukla Harisayan Ekadashi, the Lord would go to sleep for four months and wake up on Devotthan Ekadashi.
Srihari will be awakened by the law of law,on Prabodhni Ekadashi, today, devotees will awaken to the Lord with full law. Devotees will be on fast throughout the day. A house of reed will be built in the courtyard to awaken God. A reed will be placed on the four corners and a wooden plank in the middle. Aripan (Alpana) will be done to welcome God in the courtyard. Aripan will also be done on the generation. In the evening, they will be worshiped by placing the Shaligram god on it. The devotees will awaken the Lord with Vedic mantras. At least five devotees will come together to awaken the Lord. 

Tulsi's wedding with Shaligram :Prabodhni Ekadashi is the wedding day of Vrinda (Tulsi). The marriage of Tulsi with Lord Vishnu begins with lagna. As per the Vedas, Lord Vishnu turned black due to the curse of Vrinda. They will be placed at the feet of Tulsi as Shaligram.  Worshiping Tulsi gives special benefits. Therefore Tulsi marriage is given more importance in every household. Tulsi marriages are performed in Shaligram with full customs. Kanya Daan is also done during Tulsi marriage, as Kanya Daan has been considered as the biggest donation.
