On the fifth day of Navratri, the Skandmata form of the venerated Mother Durga is worshiped. Skandmata is recognized as the mother of Kumar Karthikeya. Kumar Karthikeya is also known as Skanda. Therefore, this form of Goddess Mother was named after her. Kumar Karthikeya became the commander of the gods in the famous Dewasur Sangram. His vehicle is Peacock. The idol of Skandmata Mamta is considered as the form of Sakshat Durga, a symbol of love and value.
