The School Day of Nonviolence and Peace is observed every year on January 30. This School Day of Nonviolence and Peace is an observance established by the Spanish poet Llorenc Vidal Vidal on Majorca in 1964, as the basis and encouragement for a pacifying and non-violent schooling of a permanent character. The Day was the idea of the pedagogue, philosopher, and teacher Llorenc Vial in 1964. is referred to in the form of "Dia Escolar de la Non-violencia and the Pau" (DENIP) in Catalan.

Its purpose is to integrate the principles of harmony, tolerance, and solidarity, as well as the respect of human rights nonviolence, and peace in education. It differs from the first proposal in 1948 by UNESCO, "Armistice Day" was declared in 1948 "School Day of Peace and Nonviolence" is celebrated on the 30th of January every year to commemorate the date of Mahatma Gandhi's death anniversary in most of the schools around the world.

This School Day of Nonviolence and Peace is an important day for educational circles around the world. It's a time dedicated to educating students about the virtues of peace and nonviolence in the spirit of famous pacifists such as Mahatma Gandhi.

In countries that have a Southern Hemisphere school calendar, it is observed on the 30th of March. The main messages are "Universal Love, Nonviolence, and peace. Universal love is superior to the ego, nonviolence is better than violence and peace is better than war." 

Today, schools across the world organize conferences and events in which teachers, educators, and students from all levels are encouraged to take part and freely discuss ways to build a non-violent peaceful, and fair society. These activities aim to provide students with the knowledge to recognize and encourage respect for peaceful coexistence. It is also about tolerance of differing views, solidarity in addition to respect for the rights of human beings as well as non-violence.
